ABOUT THE CYCLI.CC/ THE UNIQUE GALLERY

THIS WEBSITE IS NON-PROFIT AND NON-COMMERCIAL

We are photographers who spend a great deal of time describing and enjoying minimalism and many of the concepts related to minimalism. You can call us minimalists. Here we have collected our work for your enjoyment and ours . We love our work and we hope that you will too. This gallery serves as both our statement as well as our nexus; through it we hope that you will discover us and find your way to our work beyond.

This gallery is not an open exhibition. The photography in this collection has been selectively invited by an anonymous committee and is displayed neither for profit nor for advertising purposes. The details of our selection process are not something we are going to share, nor are they important. What is important is this collection which results.

We would like to thank you for visiting and supporting the cycli.cc gallery. Please remember to tell your friends about our unique photography collection and join us on Twitter and Flickr for the latest news and updates. Help us spread the word. We appreciate your attention and support.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What does "cycli.cc" mean; is it religious; are you a credit card company; are these works released under creative commons?

No, to all of the above. The term "cycli.cc" is specifically derived from the recursive nature of most artistic processes, reuse of content, reuse of context, and recursion as a minimalistic design pattern. We could go on for pages here, but that would not be very minimalistic of us. Mostly, it looks cool when you type it into your address bar; people remember it.

Please understand that all works displayed on this website are copyrighted by the artists and remain strictly under their control. As far as we are concerned, all rights are reserved. We cannot give you permission to use these works for any purpose. All inquiries pertaining to usage and licensing should be directed to the artists and not to the joint artists committee in charge of this collection.

Just who, exactly, makes up this so-called joint artists committee?

We do, of course.

Is it possible to link directly to specific gallery pages on your website from my website; email; blog?

Yes, please do. The direct URI for any content being displayed is shown in your browser's address bar; our server makes sure to use only safe permalinks for all requests, which you may copy and use to link back to us from any website or web page. The URI format that our server understands for gallery content is http://cycli.cc/artist_id/title_id where artist_id is the name of the artist with spaces removed and, likewise, title_id is the title of the work with spaces removed. These URIs will generate gallery content as long as both the artist and the title being requested exist; otherwise a not found error will result.

In addition, a random gallery page can be called at: http://www.cycli.cc/random

Any other page within our website can be linked as well, for example this page is called at: http://www.cycli.cc/about

Your website doesn't seem very intricate; robust; featured; so how does it promote the artists and works displayed in your collection?

Thank you; it is a compliment. Just keep thinking about it and the question will resolve itself.

Your website is really cool; a bastion of minimalist software patterning; how does it work?

This website is a custom application server built entirely in PHP on top of XML and it runs on IIS with PHP extensions. All content is delivered using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with jQuery and custom libraries. It is developed and maintained in-house.
