Will you make money from of my work, should it be invited into your collection?
No. This website is non-profit and non-commercial. We do not use your images for monetary gain, however we do reserve the right to enact an on-site advertising policy in the future should it become necessary to maintain this website, which does costs money to operate. What we do gain is the same thing that you gain: exposure. We are all artists here and we all benefit from having our work seen alongside links back to our individual private and commercial websites, etc.
You would retian full ownership and copyright control of any work displayed by our gallery. We would not use your work off-site for any purpose. In addition, you would be notified of any changes to our advertising policy and you would always reserve the right to end your participation with our gallery.
Will my work be featured over other, older works already present within the collection when displayed in your gallery?
The fact is we reserve the right to total control over the order of all works displayed in our gallery and we reserve the right to deny you our reasoning for any sorting decision. Currently, for instance, we are using randomized ordering in our visual menu ("the map") and alphanumerical ordering by work title in our index. This can change at any time at our discretion. Our goal, however, is to be fair. We do not feature work beyond order precedence. The experience or popularity of the artists whose work we show is not considered.
How would my work be displayed on your website?
Our gallery images are currently displayed using full-quality JPEG files which are 924 pixels wide by any arbitray height up to 3000 pixels. We do not watermark your images nor do we accept watermarks on any images that we display. In addition to the gallery, your work will be scaled and cropped in order to produce an interactive graphic, i.e., a thumbnail, for our visual menu ("the map").
Our server automatically protects image content from hot linking and cross linking by other websites or web pages. However, we cannot prevent manual downloads and screen captures on client computers and browsers. This is the reason that we enact and display strict copyright terms. If you were to see your work being used without your permission, you would be responsible for stopping and/or prosecuting the offending party on your own accord.
